According to Prof. Muhammad Abubakar, managing director of Galaxy Backbone (GBB), the Federal Government stopped over 200 cyberattacks during the recently held presidential and National Assembly Elections.
Tuesday in Abuja, Abubakar dropped the clue during the first session of the two-day Ministerial training for the GBB Board and Management Staff.
Preparing the GBB Team for Successful Management and Leadership in the Fourth Industrial Revolution is the training’s subtitle.
According to him, a business continuity and cyber space protection committee has been established to monitor and control online activity while also maximizing the GBB’S Technical Services.
He said: “On the day of the election, we were able to block more than 200 attacks, and the next day, the attacks geometrically escalated to around 1.2 million and were all blocked from our own enterprises.
The retreat, according to remarks made by Prof. Isa Pantami, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, was intended to assess and rebalance Galaxy Backbone Limited’s management and leadership for the best results.
The minister who led the training applauded GBB management for its approach to developing digital infrastructure and for bringing down the cost of governance.
