A Nigerian and two Ghanaians were each given a 25-year prison term by a high court in Accra, the capital of Ghana, for stealing and raping some British citizens who were traveling to the West African nation on a humanitarian mission.
Six victims were raped inside the hostel in Kokrobite by the three gang members, named Daniel Akpan, Ishmael Akyene, and Asouo Mbuotiden Edem.
According to BBC Pidgin, they pled guilty to 32 counts of conspiring to commit robbery, robbery, rape, and unlawful possession of firearms. Judge Mary Maame Ekue Yanzah then sentenced them and furthered included that hard labour will be required to fulfil their jail sentence.
