Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, according to Mr. Charles Aniagwu, did not sign any legislation granting governors new retirement benefits.
At a news conference on Tuesday in Asaba, Aniagwu provided the clarification in response to a claim made by some.
He said that the opposition political candidates and the government’s critics also claimed that the Okowa administration had sold the state liaison office in Lagos.
He warned the critics to cease smearing the governor with their baseless accusations, saying that the incumbent would remain committed to keeping the promises he had made to the people up until the end of his term.
