The Federal Government is being blamed by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center, or CISLAC, for the ‘fake’ evacuation of Nigerian students who are trapped in Sudan due to the civil war.
This was said in a statement issued by the CISLAC Executive Director, Auwal Rafsanjani, who also expressed his concern with the situation facing the students who are frantically trying to reach their families.
Rafsanjani claimed that some students paid bus drivers to take them out of Sudan and claimed that the federal administration was unconcerned because it failed to explain the actual state of affairs.
He emphasized that the alleged treatment of the students by the government violates the 1999 Constitution’s provisions, which stipulate that it is the duty of the federal government to ensure that citizens’ rights are respected both internally and outside.
