As they prepare a “surgical” evacuation of diplomatic employees from the nation, British citizens besieged in Sudan have accused the government of “abandoning” them, according to the Daily Mail.
The UK started making preparations last night for a military airlift of 12 British diplomats and their families from the embassy in the country’s capital, Khartoum.
There are allegedly 25 diplomats associated with the embassy, many of whom have taken refuge in their houses since the war started.
However, several hundred more Britons continue to reside in the nation, and governments and Whitehall officials have declared that a wider evacuation is not currently feasible.
