Umar Gwallaga, 60, and his two sons were detained by members of the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly lighting a Federal Road Safety Corps patrol van on fire.
It was further claimed that Gwallaga and his sons, 42-year-old Nasiru and 39-year-old Usman, attacked and hurt an FRSC officer.
On Sunday in Bauchi, the state police public relations officer, Ahmed Wakil, revealed this to the media.
The event, according to Wakil, took place on Friday along the Bauchi-Gombe Road.
He claimed that the three suspects were traveling from Bauchi to Gombe in a Mitsubishi Pajero Jeep when they were stopped by FRSC officers on patrol, but the driver refused to halt.
Wakil, a Superintendent of Police, reported that Nasiru Umar, 42, of Gwallaga, Bauchi, Bauchi State, put his family into his Mitsubishi Pajero Jeep and drove them from Bauchi to Gombe State at around 6 a.m. on April 7, 2023.
