A young guy was allegedly shot on Sunday by an unnamed police officer working for Mopol 8 Jos in Plateau State, according to information acquired by The PUNCH.
Nyommena Badapba, a resident of the Tudun Wada neighborhood, was shot in the shoulder shortly after arguing with the police officer.
A Tudun Wada community resident who was there during the shooting confirmed it to The PUNCH in Jos on Sunday.
He said that the young man and the policeman were having a political debate on who should be the state’s next governor.
The witness said, “The policeman was castigating the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda.
“He said he will not win the election because he has nothing to offer the people of the state but Nyommena was trying to defend him.
“When the argument became heated, the young man was advised to end the conversation and he left for his house.”
According to the victim, the police officer who was armed trailed the victim from behind.
“Suddenly, the policeman targeted his head and opened fire but luckily ,the bullet hit the youngman at his shoulder .
“He is currently at the Bingham university teaching hospital in Jos where he was rushed to,” he added.
