Acting National Chairman of the main opposition People’s democratic party (pdp), umar damagum, has urged the party’s members-elect to keep the ruling all progressives congress (apc) on their toes ahead of the 10th national assembly.
Damagum also urged the members to be firm in lawmaking.
The National Chairman said that putting the ruling party on their toes was one of the ways of making them work for the region, speaking at a meeting of members-elect in Abuja on Tuesday to officially welcome and congratulate them on their electoral victory.
The meeting’s convener, Hon. Jeremy Mercer had earlier announced his resignation. In his opening remarks, Frederick Abedi said that the meeting was to seek a consensus from the group on how to proceed in the forthcoming 10th assembly.
According to him, the PDP needed the numerical strength of 116 to achieve its goals in the parliament.
