At Yayaji, reported the situation to the news agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano. The victims were rescued on April 26, at about 1:30 p.m., at zaria road and Kurna/rijiyar lemon along Kano-Katsina Road, according to him.
The victims, aged 21 to 43, included four males and 14 females, were apprehended while on their way to Libya from the Niger Republic for greener pastures, according to Yayaji.
The victims came from Edo, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Enugu, logos, and Delta states, according to him, and were then handed over to the national agency for the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to be reunited with their families after counseling.
