In Ukraine, Russian propaganda has proved ineffectual, with Western media harrowing limits on pieces of information scaled down by Russian news agencies.
What went wrong, exactly?
On paper, Ukraine is winning the war, but in the mud, where military personnel is firing explosives and gunshots, I mean on the battlefields in Mariupol, Kyiv, and other Ukrainian cities where missiles are launched every few minutes and houses are razed with no regard for who is killed in the process, Russia is winning.
Let me explain!
A vast majority of Russians (77 percent) believe that Western propaganda is at least partially true, while nearly half of Ukrainians (49 percent) feel that Russian propaganda is completely true, in areas where it has managed to damage trust in the government and the media.
As a result, many Ukrainians are unsure about whom they should trust. They turned to Western media anyway!
Only 26% of Ukrainians have faith in the government, while only 17% have faith in the Ukrainian media. Russians, on the other hand, make up 49% of the population.
Since Russia’s takeover of Crimea in 2014, Ukraine has been engaged in a media war with Russia. Ukraine was losing this fight terribly at first because Russian propaganda was disseminating lies and disinformation about what was going on in Ukraine, so they say.
However, with the help of Western media, Ukraine has recently made considerable success in winning the information war.
But the true war, which is not fought on media, occurring in Ukraine is now being won by Russia, which has taken control of significant swaths of the country.
The Ukrainian people, on the other hand, are still resisting, and they are receiving assistance from the international community.
If battles were as simple as the media depicts them, Africans still enraged by the level of poverty imposed by Colonialism would have waged a decisive war against the west.
But war isn’t fun, and it’s not won by yelling on social media about how many Russian warplanes were shot down, how many Russian Generals were slain, and how many Russian military tanks were bombarded by US missiles provided to Ukraine.
War is a cruel condition of manslaughter that affects everyone from targets to those who aren’t, from military personnel in uniform on the battlefield to people at home whose hearts are racing due to the nervous sounds of gunshots nearby.
According to a poll conducted by the local research agency Rating Group, more than 90% of Ukrainians believe their country will win the battle with Russia. A total of 1,000 people took part in the survey.
The survey’s rationale demonstrated that the Western media has lost its senses when it comes to genuine justification.
And this is why:
According to the World Population Review, Ukraine has a total population of approximately 43.1 million people; so, where do 1,000 numbers stand in providing a true apparent that may make dramatic modifications on a reasonable human’s perspective?
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine made a direct appeal to Moscow and the Russian people, stating that 14,000 Russian soldiers have died since the war began. If continuing ceasefire talks with Russia fail, Zelenskyy warned of catastrophic consequences.
If Zelensky’s figures are correct, consider how many Ukrainian soldiers have died and how many civilians, including children, have been slain as a wake of the Russian army’s capture of Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mariupol, and Melitopol.
Although the war in Ukraine is far from over, there are some clear indications that Ukraine is winning the information war. As Russian propaganda falls on deaf ears.
If Russia may be winning on the battlefield, You can imagine what it means for the future of conflicts.
