Yesterday, representatives from the United States of America’s embassy in Nigeria paid a visit to the Naval Base in Onitsha, Anambra State.
During their visit, they expressed their appreciation to the Nigerian Navy for their swift action in rescuing two embassy officials who were kidnapped during an attack on their convoy in the Ogbaru local government area.
The delegation was led by Mr. Jim Suor, a regional security officer from the US Consulate in Lagos.
Recalls that a team of officials from the US Consulate in Lagos State on a fact-finding tour were, last week, attacked, leaving many people dead, two embassy officials abducted and their vehicles set ablaze along Atani/Osamela road in Ogbaru.
