Ukraine officials have issued air raid alerts across the capital after a massive missile attack from Russia.
According to a report from Ukrainian officials, the country’s air defense system has shot down over 15 missiles, fired towards the capital from Russia in their latest attacks.
“The enemy launched more than 15 cruise missiles in the direction of Kyiv. Thanks to the outstanding work of our air defenses, all the targets were destroyed,” the head of the military administration said.
Despite repelling some of the attacks, residents are warned to remain in shelters after the explosion was heard in Kyiv.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko wrote on telegram warning the residents not to move out of their shelters, as the sound of bombs continued to be heard around.
“Explosion in Kyiv, remain in shelters,” Klitschko wrote.
The Ukrainian military has also passed information, telling the residents of danger due to air attacks from Russia, imploring them to remain in shelters until the end of the attack.
