Uganda to host Commonwealth Speakers Conference in 2024 this was announced by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, who is currently attending the four-day Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers’ Conference in the Australian capital, Canberra. The current conference which started on Tuesday will end on Friday, January 6, 2023.
Mr. Tayebwa was the elected Vice Chairperson for the forthcoming Conference described the opportunity to host the conference as a vote of confidence to Uganda.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya Mr. Moses Wetangula lauded Uganda for winning the bid and pledged candid support to ensure that the forthcoming Conference in 2024 gets a befitting and requisite level of the standardized alliance.
Uganda is now hoping to take advantage of the global event to earn foreign exchange, and market at the various tourism sites.
