The authorities of UAE, Turkey, and Sweden have condemned the actions of protesters who stormed the Turkish embassy on Saturday, burning a copy of the Quran.
The Swedish government in a message disseminated on Saturday denounced the act by the far-right campaigners during their protest.
The group convened the protest to show their grievances against Turkey which served as a stumbling block to the country’s application into NATO.
The Swedish foreign minister, Tobias Billstrom sighted the burning of the Quran as appalling stressing that, though the country has freedom of expression, the government is not in support of the attitude of the protesters.
Turkey’s foreign minister also in a statement condemned the act saying permitting anti-Islam agents under the guise of freedom of expression is unacceptable as they insult the Islamic sacred values.
The UAE ministry of foreign affairs described the burning of the Quran as extremism from the perpetrator, calling for government attention against Inciting hatred through religions.
The UAE government said, the Swedish authorities need to spread the value of tolerance and coexistence across the country.
