Two women have been put behind bars by the Comoros police on Saturday after planning on getting married together.
The two women were arrested after meeting with an Islamic cleric to join them together, the Comoros public prosecutor said.
The detained women have been charged for same-sex sexual activity which is prohibited in Comoros, a country dominated by Muslims.
Speaking on the illegal activities engaged by the women, the public prosecutor Ali Mohamed Djounaid said both culprits are currently being held in pre-trial detention at a prison in the capital.
Should they be found guilty, Djounaid said both women could face up to two years behind bars respectively for their immoral activities.
