Thousands of people from different parts of Iran come out to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of Gen. Soleimani, who was killed in a drone airstrike at Baghdad airport in Iraq in 2020.
People in the southern city of Kerman, the hometown of Gen. Soleimani, also attended rallies in their thousands to pay their tribute.
According to Iran’s state television, more than 100,000 pilgrims, Iranians, and non-Iranians visited the gravestone of Gen. Soleimani.
Several Iranian officials and others from the Axis of Resistance attended the Tehran gathering held at the Grand Mosalla mosque, where the Iranian president told the crowd that “the revenge for Gen. Soleimani is inevitable.”
Several provinces in Iraq declared Tuesday a public holiday to allow people to commemorate the anniversary.
A grand ceremony was held at the Baghdad airport, where Gen. Soleimani and Muhandis were killed by a US drone strike.
Gen.Soleimani’s daughter Zeinab Soleimani expressed appreciation for the commemoration and thanked the people of Kerman for their good welcoming of Hajj Qassim.
