The Gombe State Police Command has cleared Governor Muhammed Yahaya of any wrongdoing in connection with the stabbing death of a 21-year-old on Tuesday and his “thank you” visit and celebration.
Assailants are said to have slain Usman Adamu and taken his phone from him at Anguwa Uku when the governor went there to thank his supporters for their resounding victory.
To show his appreciation, Yahaya travelled to the local governments of Kwami, Funakaye, Dukku, and Nafada.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, confirmed the death of Adamu on Wednesday and said it had nothing to do with the celebratory mood.
