At the Saturday supplemental elections, the All Progressives Congress increased its Senate representation by three, bringing its total representation in the 10th Senate from 57 to 60.
Additionally, the Peoples Democratic Party won three additional senatorial seats, bringing the total number of senators in the 10th Senate up to 32 from the previous 29.
While the PDP triumphed in Sokoto South, Kebbi North, and Zamfara Central, the APC won in Sokoto Central, Yobe South, and Plateau Central.
Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, a candidate for the APC, defeated Mannir Daniya, a close competitor and the state’s deputy governor, with 141,468 votes in Sokoto Central.
