The Taiwanese officials have deployed the f-16 fighter jets to the vicinity the Chinese military is engaging in their military drill to monitor the situation which has been described as volatile by Taiwan.
China on Thursday announced the commencement of the military drill in response to Taiwan’s President’s speech where he condemned the act of China on its territory, saying the Island is an entity that can decide its future from the opinion of the people.
The independence claim by Taiwan has further severed the relationship between China and Taiwan, with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) expressing readiness to engage and take back Taiwan through military means.
While Taiwan has failed to steer China off its territory, the Taiwanese officials in under strict surveillance as they monitor the activities of the Chinese drills around their borders, with the majority of Taiwan media covering the military exercise.
China on different occasions maintains its ownership of Taiwan as Beijing continues to warn external factors against interfering in the crisis, saying China will respond drastically to any form of threat posed by external bodies on the ownership of Taiwan.
Taiwan President Lai Ching-te during his inauguration speech said Taiwan and China are two different entities with the Island not subordinate to China, an inauguration speech which was condemned by Beijing and led to the commencement of the 2-days military drill.
