Since fighting began last month in Sudan, at least 481 civilians have been killed and more than 2,560 have been wounded.
The figure given by the Sudanese doctors union is part of a larger death toll of at least 700 people killed since April 15.
Observers note that even though more than 100,000 people have left Sudan so far, civilians are still suffering as a result of the conflict, with many people queuing for the little available bread.
Those who have made it to the top of the list are still in need of attention. Hundreds of refugees are also being queint at the Sudanese border with Chad.
The UN says it needs $445 million to fund vital support and that’s just to enable those displaced by the fighting to survive through the next few months.
