Winners of Nigeria’s senatorial elections on February 25, 2023, received Certificates of Return on Tuesday from the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
At the International Conference Center in Abuja, Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman, gave the new MPs their credentials.
Yakubu had claimed on Saturday that 423 legislative seats had been proclaimed winners.
It also stated that additional elections would be held in 46 additional constituencies.
The elected representatives represent 325 out of 360 House of Representatives seats and 98 out of 109 Senate seats, respectively.
As a result, seven parties won seats in the Senate and eight parties won seats in the House of Representatives.
