Senior Russia anti-submarine Admiral Levchenko located on the Barents Sea is currently on fire.
This was confirmed by the Ukrainian navy who announced the incident.
The Ukrainian spokesperson in the Southern Defense Dorces and Navy, Dmytro Plentenchuk in a post online confirmed the incident.
He said the fire was a result of malfunctioning with the Ship, putting risk to the lives of hundreds of crew members on board.
“Enemy equipment is on fire. More precisely, the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Levchenko in the Barents Sea. Its struggle for survival continues, hopefully in vain”, he said.
He said the recurrence of this issue is a result of sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine as they can’t independently service engines produced in Mykolaiv.
The large anti-submarine ships Admiral Levchenko and Rear Admiral Kulakov left the Northern Fleet’s main base in Severomorsk to the designated areas as part of a naval search and strike group.
