Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lakki Marwat district, a police officer and two children were killed in a shooting targeting a car.
According to the police, unidentified assailants opened fire on a car near the River Kurram on the Indus Highway in Lakki Marwat, resulting in the deaths of a police officer and two children inside the vehicle. However, the women in the car were unharmed.
The police identified the deceased officer as Saadullah Khan, a former MTO of Lakki Marwat police. The children who were killed were his nephews, aged between 8 and 12 years.
The police reported that Saadullah Khan was traveling from Lakki Marwat to Peshawar for medical treatment.
After the incident, the assailants fled the scene easily, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to the hospital.
The police stated that the motive for the shooting is still unknown, but evidence is being collected from the scene, and a search operation is underway in the area to apprehend the culprits.
It is noteworthy that several police officers have been targeted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent days.
