Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and his supporters, known as the “Obidients,” were greatly underestimated by many in the camps of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, according to a former minister of information and national orientation, Labaran Maku, on Tuesday.
The two major parties undervalued Obi and his supporters because they believed he lacked political structure and wouldn’t be able to accomplish much, but they were shocked by the results of the 2023 presidential election, which demonstrated that “the youths were not joking,” according to Maku, a PDP chieftain from Nasarawa State.
When asked about the results of the 2023 elections on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program, the former minister made this statement.
