A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former member of the House of Representatives who represented the Ika Federal Constituency in Delta State, Cairo Ojuogboh has passed away.
The information was revealed by the deceased family member on Thursday.
He confirmed that Ojuogboh died on Wednesday evening while watching the semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa in the AFCON 2023 tournament.
According to reports, he fell when South Africa was given a penalty towards the end of the game at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.
Nigeria won the game in a penalty shootout with a score of 4-2, sending the Super Eagles to the final of the AFCON 2023 against the host, Cote d’Ivoire.
Ojuogboh is a Nigerian academic and public servant. He has held various positions of prominence, including serving as an Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The NDDC is an organization established by the Nigerian government to facilitate the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region. Ojuogboh’s tenure as an Executive Director of the NDDC contributed to his extensive experience and knowledge in the field of regional development and governance.
