Oluwatoyin Madein, the Federation’s new Accountant-General of Nigeria, swore on Friday to lead a corruption-free government.
Madein, the first female Accountant-General, made the remarks in Abuja shortly after taking over from the outgoing substantive AGF, Sylva Okolieaboh.
“We are all aware that the Office of the Accountant General has been through some turmoil in the last year.”
“The departing Ag. AGF just mentioned how he was able to stem the tide.” I pray that our Treasury House will continue to grow from strength to strength.
“In carrying out our statutory responsibilities, we must be guided by the general principles of zero-tolerance to corruption in order to diligently redeem the image of this great office.”
The new AGF, who was previously the Director of Finance and Accounts at the Office of the Federation’s Head of Civil Service, stated that she will also totally digitalize the federal government’s financial management.
