President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that Nigerians chose to vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections because of the current administration’s high level of development.
According to a statement issued by presidential spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, the president said yesterday while receiving the president-elect and other leaders of the ruling party at his Daura country home in Katsina State that he was pleased that the people chose the APC and its candidates. According to Buhari, the people have expressed their desire for the current administration’s development momentum to continue.
Buhari congratulated APC supporters and the Presidential Campaign Council on the “historic victory,” which he claimed would not have been possible without discipline, commitment, and hard work.
Yesterday evening, the president-elect and his vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, made a triumphant entrance into Buhari’s private residence in Daura, each brandishing their certificates of return.
The certificates issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were indicative of their presidential election victory.
