Some parents of Nigerian students studying abroad have asked Mallam Adamu Adamu for help with the non-payment of their children’s allowance before he leaves office.
The parents bemoaned the fact that some of the impacted Nigerian students, particularly those who benefited from the Bilateral Education Agreement and were studying in nations such as Algeria, China, Cuba, Egypt, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Tunisia, Turkey, and Ukraine, were owed up to five months’ worth of allowance for this year.
They claimed that each scholar is entitled to supplementing allowances of $6,000 year to help with costs such as eating, local transportation, maintenance, equipment, and books, as well as $250 annually for warm clothing, and $200 annually for health insurance.
