Some South East leaders operating under the auspices of Anya Ndigbo yesterday declared that Igbo people are not at war with Yoruba people in Lagos while also expressing concern that Igbo people now live in fear in the state as a result of the ethnic profiling and violence that characterized the just general elections.
This occurred at the same time that Chief Olabode George, a former deputy national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, denounced ethnic profiling against Igbo people as undermining Lagosians’ culture.
When he led a delegation from Anya Ndigbo to meet with George at his Lugard office in Ikoyi, Lagos, Dr. Uma Eleazu, the chairman of the Anya Ndigbo Board of Trustees, spoke.
Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Mr. Ben Akah, Chief Amaechi Ebeledike, President of the South East Town Unions in Lagos, Segun Adebanjo, Elvira Salleras, and Mr. Ikechukwu Amaechi are additional group members that attended the meeting.
In his remarks, Dr. Uma Eleazu, the chairman of Anya Ndigbo’s board of trustees, stated that Igbo people are concerned about the events that characterized the general elections and that fake news was created to specifically target Igbo people.
