The Muslim rights concern (muric) has condemned Samuel Orton for immortalizing Major Gideon orkar.
In a statement issued by Malam Hassan Indabawa, the chairman of the Kano state chapter, on Saturday in Abuja, muric said this.
“The Muslim community is curious about Ortom’s motive for honoring a man who was found guilty of treason against the state and executed in July 1990, being tried, convicted, and executed.
In April 1990, Major Gideon Orkar orchestrated a violent and bloody coup against the military administration of retired gen. ibrahimBabangidaa.
The coup, however, was shattered by the ethnic and religious undertone that accompanied the address on April 22, 1990, which was made at 4:00 a.m.
