This evening, near Ago Palace Road in Lagos, four occupants in an SUV narrowly avoided death when a 40-foot container fell off a truck and struck their vehicle.
This incident took place less than 12 hours following comparable ones in four other areas of Lagos.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, reported that a truck that was coming from Apple Junction on Ago Palace Way had a broken brake.
No casualties were reported in the accident, according to the agency’s personnel, who were led by Zone 5 ‘Bravo’ Ige Omolaja, according to Adebayo Taofiq, Director of Public Affairs and Education at LASTMA.
“He confirmed further that LASEMA Response Unit had been contacted for immediate evacuation.
“LASTMA’s General Manager ,Mr Bolaji Oreagba appealed to motorists particularly truck owners and drivers to always ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey .
“Mr. Oreagba however confirmed that the Agency today alone recorded five different container truck accidents at different locations across the State.
” These include : Ketu inward Mile 12; Ojuelegba bridge inward stadium;under the bridge by LASUTH , Ago Palace Road and Oke-Alfa bridge inward Jakande Estate”.
