In Yobe State, over a thousand members of four political parties have defected to the All Progressives Congress.
The parties affected are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) (ADC).
In welcoming new APC members in Potiskum town, Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana, assured them that they would be given equal rights as existing members, emphasizing that the APC believes in one united Nigeria.
The party’s Zonal Vice Chairman, Baba Usman Arlaji, congratulated the defectors and promised to include the new members in all party activities, while also encouraging members of other political parties to join the ruling APC in order to move the state forward.
Sen. Mohammed Hassan (aka Dambu), represented by the Zonal Director Campaign Council, Prof. Bello Kawuwa, also urged the new members to persuade their colleagues in their former parties to vote for APC at all levels of the elections.
