No less than nine patients have been reported dead following a fire accident that struck the hospital located in Iran’s city of Rasht on Tuesday.
According to the report, the fire broke out at 1:30 am (2200 GMT on Monday).
Firefighters were quick to intervene in the fire outbreak foiling further escalation to other areas of the hospital.
Currently, the investigation has commenced into the circumstances that led to the fire incident, The President of the Gilan University of Medical Sciences in Rasht, Mohammed Taghi Ashobi said.
He added that most of the patients who died were hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
