Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has called on the Higher Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to lend its support to the state’s endeavours in revitalizing the education sector. During a visit to Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of TETFund, in Abuja on Friday, the Governor expressed concern over the current state of education in Zamfara, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to bring about transformative changes.
Governor Lawal commended TETFund for its commendable work in implementing various projects across higher education institutions throughout the country. However, he highlighted the challenges faced by Zamfara’s education sector, stressing the urgency of concerted actions to address these issues effectively.
In response, Echono assured the Governor that TETFund remains committed to providing essential infrastructure to bolster security in public higher education institutions. Recognizing the gravity of the insecurity situation in Zamfara and its impact on educational institutions, Echono disclosed that TETFund has plans in place to address security infrastructure concerns in the state. This intervention is part of the fund’s broader efforts to support educational institutions grappling with security challenges.
With the joint commitment from the Governor and TETFund, it is hoped that their collaborative efforts will bring about positive transformations in the education sector of Zamfara, ultimately improving the prospects for the state’s students and educational institutions.
