The Group of Seven leaders also known as the G7 has approved the two-state solution between Israel and Palestine as the only lasting solution to the conflict between the two countries.
Also, while adopting the two-state solution, the G7 expressed worries over recurring threats from Lebanon Hezbollah’s attack on Israel, claiming it might lead to an escalation of the conflict.
The G7 called for the immediate adoption of the proposed ceasefire submitted by President Biden, as they emphasized on de-escalation of conflict on the Israel-Lebanon border.
In a statement released by the G7, it stated that “Western leaders reiterated their unwavering commitment to a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace, side-by-side.”
The adoption of the ceasefire proposal by the G7 came amid deliberation by the UNSC declaration on the adoption of the peace deal.
