A total of 146,913 domestic and international observers would be deployed for this year’s general elections, according to INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who announced this at the INEC briefing for observers to the 2023 general election on Tuesday in Abuja.
He mentioned that 196 domestic and national organizations, which sent out 144,800 observers, and 33 international organizations, which sent out 2,113 observers, were accredited by the commission.
The INEC chairman claims that there are the most observers ever in the history of the nation.
He emphasized that the foreign observers must respect Nigeria’s sovereignty and pleaded with them not to be politically biased or let their emotion get into there line of job.
