Three people have been reported dead in a fatal cult clash in the Riuzor community, Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, as confirmed by the Ebonyi State Police Command on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the acting police spokesperson, DSP Joshua Ukandu, disclosed that various cult groups were involved in the clash.
According to Ukandu, the clash erupted on Sunday in the Oriuzor community, marked by gunshots and violent clashes among cult members, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of three individuals.
In response to the incident, Ukandu mentioned that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the clash. However, he assured the public that law enforcement authorities have effectively brought the situation under control.
The confirmation by the Ebonyi Police Command highlights the severity of the cult clash and underscores its impact on the affected community. Efforts by law enforcement agencies, including the arrest of suspects, are currently underway to address the situation and prevent further violence.
