Even as the Lagos state government issued a traffic diversion pending repair work, motorists were alerted to the sluggish deck-on-pile bridge in ijora olopa, which is inbound Ijora Lloyd.
The bridge has been closed down for repairs, according to the state commissoner for transportation, Dr. Fredric oladeinde announced this on wednesday.
Oladeinde, who did not specify the time the repairs and diversion would take place, stressed that the diversion was necessary pending work to be carried out by the federal government in collaboration with the state government.
To minimize disruption, the commissioner listed the following routes, which have already been mapped out: to get to ijora oloye or Apapa, drivers from the Eko bridge should use iganmu/sifax.
Motorists from iddo heading to ijora-oloye/apapa will be diverted at the intersection underpass on a contra flow to re-connect at the u-turn inwards ijora-oloye or Apapa.
