The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked three Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon on Sunday, responding to several rocket and drone attacks launched by Hezbollah against Israel throughout the day.
IDF attacked a Hezbollah terrorist in Naqoura as he was observed leaving a military structure in one of the strikes. Later in the day, near Ayta ash Shab, two additional terrorists were targeted by the IDF.
Hezbollah announced on Sunday afternoon that one of its members had been killed, with Lebanese media reporting that the militant was slain in the strike in Naqoura.
During the day, Hezbollah fired more than 15 projectiles from Lebanon into northern Israel, resulting in no reported injuries.
The relationship between Israel and Hezbollah is complex and deeply rooted in the political and sectarian dynamics of the Middle East.
Hezbollah, a Shia Islamist militant group and political party based in Lebanon, emerged in the early 1980s to resist the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon. Since then, Hezbollah has evolved into a powerful paramilitary organization with significant influence both within Lebanon and across the region.
Hezbollah’s opposition towards Israel originates from its commitment to the Palestinian cause and its perception of Israel as an occupying force in Palestinian territories and Lebanese territory.
