The controversy surrounding the future of the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has reached its apogee as the British PM will officially resign from his post today, and act as an interim until the next election.
The leadership of the British Prime Minister has been surrounded by different allegations which were levied against him, forcing most of his top cabinet ministers to resign, the recent which was Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid who tendered their resignation minutes from each other, expressing a lack of confidence in Boris administration.
Johnson’s tenure has been accused of by series of scandals, accusing him of disregarding the rules binding on the illegal lockdown-breaking parties held during the covid lockdown, recurring lies, and propaganda, and allegations of impropriety and abuse by his party lawmakers, his approach on Brexit, and the proxy war on Russia which has downturned the country’s economy are all part of allegations levied against him.
Despite taking an international run to prevent ousting him from the PM position, Boris Johnson failed strongly as he lost the support of the masses which left the Conservative party ministers and MPs with no other options than to withdraw their support for him.
According to a report from BBC, a Conservative leadership contest take place this summer and a new Prime Minister will be in time for the party conference in October, which will still give way for Boris Johnson to continue as PM.
