His Grace Most Rev Ignatius Kaigama, the catholic archbishop of Abuja, has urged the political class to respect the judiciary’s right to carry out its constitutional duties, noting that God above is keeping an eye on how the courts operate.
The warning was given by Kaigama yesterday during his sermon at St. Augustine Church in Lugbe, Abuja, in response to allegations of results tampering in the Presidential and National Assembly elections last weekend.
He commended the court for its crucial role in preventing crises by administering justice in legal disputes and cautioned politicians against being deceived by the urge to hold onto power.
In addition, Kaigama urged judges to uphold the truth with courage and impartiality, emphasizing that doing so was crucial to the administration of justice.
