Jonah Jang, a former governor of Plateau State, said on Wednesday that the All Progressives Congress was not re-elected in the state because it had caused hardship and suffering to the populace during its seven years in office.
Jang said that the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee, Caleb Mutfwang, won the March 18 governorship election as a result of the Plateau voters’ choice to support him.
Mutfwang received 5,252,999 votes, according to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission at its Collation Center in Jos on Monday, defeating 17 other candidates, including Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, his closest challenger and the candidate of the ruling APC.
The former governor claimed that the Plateau people rejected the APC candidate because the party subjected them to hardship and suffering in a statement released on Wednesday and signed by his media consultant, Clinton Garuba.
