Carlos De Oliveira, the property manager of Donald Trump’s Florida estate, is set to appear in court on Monday to face charges related to the alleged mishandling of top-secret government documents by the former president.
Trump, who pleaded not guilty last month to various charges, is scheduled to go on trial next May amidst the 2024 presidential election campaign.
The new charges against Trump involve attempts to obstruct the FBI investigation and recover classified documents he took with him when leaving the White House.
De Oliveira, along with Trump’s personal aide Waltine “Walt” Nauta, is also charged in this case.
Trump is facing other legal issues, including a potential indictment for trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election and multiple felony counts in a New York fraud case.
