The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, encouraged Nigerians to stay composed amid the ongoing economic difficulties.
Akume said this in Abuja on Thursday during a a session with the National Executive Council of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Akume stated, “Nigerians must maintain calmness. President Bola Tinubu is actively working towards enhancing the economy.”
He mentioned that the present government assumed power during a tumultuous economic period, acknowledging significant reforms underway to address the situation.
He stated that the Federal government had implemented various measures to tackle existing hardships, including swift actions to roll out palliatives aimed at mitigating the impacts of the reforms.
Akume emphasized that the federal government’s commitment extended beyond just implementing the new minimum wage, highlighting its focus on productivity and economic stability as well.
