Turkey has canceled a planned visit by Sweden’s defense minister to the country.
The decision by the Turkish state on Saturday came as a result of the Nordic country’s permits for anti-Turkish protests.
In a statement from the Turkish defense minister Hulusi Akar disclosed that the visit by the Swedish minister is of no point to the country.
“The visit no longer held any importance or point because Sweden continued to allow disgusting demonstrations against Turkey,” he said.
Sweden is preparing for a demonstration this weekend, as a Danish far-right activist has been granted by the police to stage a protest outside the Turkish embassy in Sweden.
Turkey said the planned protest linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is a violation of the joint memorandum signed between Turkey, Sweden, and Finland.
Turkey stressed that the PKK is a terrorist group which is confirmed in the memorandum signed by Sweden and Finland during the period.
