The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, jamb, has announced that it will provide the necessary assistance to ensure that Nigerian students who were evacuated from war-torn Sudan are accepted into the country’s universities.
Prof . Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the jamb, made this known yesterday in Abuja when she led others to the exam body’s headquarters to discuss modalities for integrating disadvantaged students into the country’s tertiary institutions.
Oloyede, who sympathized with the students, praised Nidcom for their prompt response, adding that Jamb would provide the necessary assistance.
He encouraged the students not to follow the example of those who returned to the country over a year ago as a result of Ukraine’s war and refused to follow the prescribed procedures that would have ensured that their academic careers in Nigerian universities would have been seamless.
