Yesterday, 834 Nigerians were stranded in Sudan’s conflict-ridden country at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Abuja, bringing a total of 834 Nigerians to the pilgrims’ terminal.
According to the news agency of Nigeria (NAN), the airport terminal saw a large turnout of parents, as well as relatives of the returnees, who welcomed them with joy.
On receiving the returnees, Dr. sani gwarzo, permanent secretary, ministry of humanitarian affairs, said that more stranded Nigerians will be back in the country in a few days.
Three flights landed in the country’s capital, with a total of 834 returnees, according to him.
He added that the sick ones among them had also been taken to the clinics for proper check-ups, before releasing them to go to their respective homes.
