Form one student died by suicide over the allegations that his parents denied him access to his mobile phone in Kenya.
The deceased who was identified as Barack Onyango, a student at Naya Secondary school in Rarieda sub-county, committed suicide in his uncle’s home in Gembe West Location, Mbita sub-county on Friday.
The police are still investigating the tragedy due to the intricacies of the incident as it came with little information on how the boy sneaked into his uncle’s house before hanging himself.
The corpse of the minor was moved to Kirindo MED25 mortuary morgue as police launched investigations into the case immediately.
According to the area Chief Michael Otieno, the 17-year-old boy returned home with a smartphone when schools were closed for the third term but the boy was hiding the phone from his parents. His mother later understand the boy had a phone and she confiscated it.
