Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, has been urged to avoid meddling in the leadership debate of the 10th national assembly a civil society organization (cso), center for credible leadership and Citizenship.
Dr. Nwambu Gabriel, the coalition’s director-general, said yesterday that the national assembly as an independent arm of government should be empowered to determine who presides over their affairs, as encapsulated in the federal republic of Nigeria’s constitution.
Nwambu has slammed the all progressives congress (APC) and other vested interests to impose leaders on members of the 10th national assembly.
According to him, the idea of a separate body of government called the legislature “is to provide “checks and balances” to prevent the division of authority among one body, which would result in the usurpation of authority and, consequently, repression, tyranny, and oppression.”
