Russia is set to host a group of countries which comprises China, India, Belarus, Mongolia, and Tajikistan in its new Vostok military drills that are due to start at the end of August till the 5th of September.
Reports have been made that, China’s military troops will travel to Moscow in a bid to participate in the joint military exercises that will commence this month’s end.
Russia’s plan to host the military drill came at a period of global unrest between the major superpowers as China with Russia are at loggerhead with US-led Western countries.
The growing relationship between Russia and China is perceived as a threat by western countries, as the latter had refused to condemn Moscow’s aggressive invasion of Ukraine.
China up till now continues to expand mutual and bilateral relations with Russia amidst the western sanctions, and Beijing is considered the closest ally of Moscow in this hard time for Russia.
The upcoming military drills will also increase the alliances between both countries as they both have and share close defence links which they’re hoping to take to another level in due time.
A report from the Chinese defence ministry participating in the military drills stated that the goal is to deepen practical and friendly cooperation with the armies of countries participating, and also to improve the level of strategic collaboration among participating countries, and strengthen the ability to respond and react to various security threat.
With the US continuing to strengthen ties with her indo-pacific allies militarily, China and Russia continued to strengthen their mutual understanding with the alliance of no limit partnership signed by both countries at the early period of the year.
While allegations have been meted against China for participating in the military drills with Russia despite having full carnal knowledge of the present situations the international politics found itself in, China had debunked any rumors of trying to upset both regional and international situations.
Should China be active in the military drills taking place in Moscow, this will be the second time the year both countries had engaged in a combined military exercise.
